The largest annual expenditure of Delaware’s Ryan White Program is for medications for persons living with HIV/AIDS. These medications may be dispensed through the HIV Wellness Clinics throughout the state or by private pharmacies.
Delaware is fortunate in that its Drug Formulary (the listing of drugs can are covered for payment) is extensive and that its eligibility restrictions are few. Any Delawarean living with HIV disease and with an annual income equal to or less than 500% of the currently used Federal Poverty Levels should be able to receive services through this program, at little or no cost.
Referrals to this program must be made on the client’s behalf by a recognized HIV/AIDS case manager or by specific social workers at the HIV Wellness Clinics in Wilmington, Newark, Smyrna or Georgetown.
