Outreach

Centering Around the Community and Cultivating Trust

Outreach is at the heart of our mission at the Delaware HIV Consortium. We know that access to information, testing, and prevention tools is not always equitable—which is why our outreach work is intentional, community-centered, and rooted in trust. From street outreach and event-based testing to digital campaigns and one-on-one conversations, our team meets people where they are—geographically, emotionally, and culturally.

We engage directly with the communities most affected by HIV and STIs, including LGBTQ+ individuals, youth, people who use drugs, people experiencing homelessness, and communities of color. Through these efforts, we aim to reduce stigma, share lifesaving information, and connect individuals with free and confidential services that support their health and well-being.

What We Do

We know that effective outreach is not transactional—it’s transformational. That’s why we invest in long-term relationships with communities, listen to what people need, and work to create welcoming pathways to care that honor everyone’s dignity and autonomy.

  • Community-Based Testing and PrEP Navigation

We bring HIV and STI testing services to shelters, community centers, colleges, and Pride events. Plus, we connect individuals with PrEP and follow-up care.

  • Partnership-Driven Outreach

We collaborate with trusted local organizations, schools, and clinics to extend our reach and deliver services in safe, affirming environments.

  • Mobile and Pop-Up Services

Our mobile teams offer on-the-spot education, testing, and supply distribution in locations across the state—from urban centers to rural communities.

  • Digital and Social Media Campaigns

We use social platforms and digital tools to educate people, reduce stigma, and reach those who may not otherwise engage with traditional health systems.

  • Resource Distribution

We provide safer sex supplies; health information; and referrals to mental health, housing, and substance use services. Because prevention is about more than just one moment of care.
