People living with HIV disease often have mental health challenges to deal with, too. In some cases, behaviors caused by mental illness are what initially increased their risks for acquiring HIV infections. In other cases, an HIV diagnosis and the challenge of living with a stigmatized chronic disease results in a completely different set of mental health issues. This program uses licensed providers that offer psychological and psychiatric treatment and counseling services to individuals with a diagnosed mental illness, usually in a one-on-one setting.
