Take the step to help halt the spread of HIV/AIDS in Delaware! Register today for the 20th Annual AIDS Walk!

2006 will mark 20 years of making a difference by collecting pledges and walking to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS throughout the state. There will be a Walk in each county again this year— Sept. 24 at Wilmington’s Rockford Park; Oct. 8 at both Silver Lake Recreation Area in Dover and North Bedford Street Park in Georgetown.

Registering yourself and your friends, family, co-workers and classmates is the key to a successful event. Registering online is easy! Simply log onto www.aidsdelaware.org to sign up.

This year’s Walk is being sponsored by AIDS Delaware, Delaware HIV Consortium, Bristol-Myers Squibb, The News Journal, Happy Harry’s, The Neil Corporation, Comcast, YMCA, 6abc, Spark Magazine, 1450 Wilmington News Radio, The River 94.7 FM, Living.Well Magazine, Kiss 101.7 FM and Clear Channel Communications.

Registration for each Walk begins at 11 a.m., step off is at 2 p.m. The route is about 5K, stroller-friendly and has a short cut. The Walk will be held rain or shine.
